The MLS is a beautiful thing.  If it ever becomes totally public, about 1.2 million of us real estate agents will be looking for a new job.  In the meantime, if you would like current or historical information on your town,  school district or subdivision sold homes and listings, all you have to do is send me an email. My promise is to get you a reply within 3 days.  Now why in the world would I offer this service free of charge to you whom I do not know?  I would much rather be golfing!

Well , if I asked you what company has grown the fastest and is known all over the world in the space of  11 years, most of  you would say “google.”  And, you would be correct.  “What Would Google Do?” is great new book that I recently read.   It explains the company’s philosophy and why it has become so incredibly successful.  Moreover, the book details a methodology of doing business that most business-persons do not understand. That is until after they read the book.

So, what do they do?  Google has changed the world with a FREE service to EVERYONE.  How, then, does Goggle make their profits?  In one word, advertising.  Those “sponsored links” on the right side of every Google page is a paid advertisement.  But that is not why I would offer you free statistical information on residential real estate.

My reason is to get your name and email address as a lead.   Hopefully, the information I send you will be just what you want.  Maybe it will please you.  Maybe you will contact me again when  you need additional information such as school information, tax info, commute times etc.  Or maybe you will refer a buyer or seller to me?  The other two promises I make is  to  NEVER  give your email address to anyone else and not to flood your inbox with junk email from me. 

Lastly, the other thing I have learned from Google is transparancy.  Share information; make it free.  Be open and deliver on your promises!
